Currently the project team has finished the Analyze and Design phase of the system and entered the Configure & Develop stage. This is the period when software is configured and specific development work is completed to reflect the business processes of the University of Chicago. The team will repeat this phase (and the following two phases, Test & Train and Deploy & Optimize) for each go live or rollout event scheduled throughout the project.
At this point, working groups from around campus are evaluating the range of tasks associated with processing student data within the following areas: Academic Advising, Academic Structure, Admissions, Campus Community, Financial Aid, Student Financials, and Student Records. They are also working on reporting configuration and the self-service experience.
Drop-by information sessions for academic departments will begin later this month. A schedule and details will be posted.
The University will host the new AIS system on campus, rather than with an external hosting provider. The new equipment has arrived and is being installed in our data center.
