When graduate students register for classes for Autumn Quarter 2016, they will use the Academic Information System for the first time. The old registration site, classes.uchicago.edu has been replaced.
The Graduation Application also is now located on the my.UChicago student homepage.
In addition, this quarter students also will see in AIS:
- Class registration (classes.uchicago.edu is now defunct)
- My Academics
- Annual confirmation (opened Sept. X)
- Financial Aid
- Student Accounts
- Self Service
The annual confirmation process is now powered by AIS. Students go to their new my.UChicago student homepage to complete the requirements. Directions for completing the process can be found on both the AIS and Registrar’s websites.
Faculty Access for staff users also went live in AIS this Autumn Quarter. Though faculty won’t use AIS directly yet, they will benefit from the it’s infrastructure and contemporary platform, and when more features are released next year, their resources will also expand.
The annual Registrar’s meeting was held on Wednesday, Sept 14. In addition to news and updates from areas such as Campus and Student Life, Student Health, UChicago GRAD, and the Office of International Affairs, the AIS project leads detailed the progress of the implementation and demonstrated the new system.
In the coming months, transcripts, advising, and new reports will be among the added features in AIS.
