Training resources and FAQs now online

As the AIS team prepares to release the first stages of the new Academic Information System to early users on November 9, new resources to support the transition have been added to the website.

The Training and Tutorials tab is the most important. By logging in with a CNet ID, UChicago system users can access instructions for conducting transactions in AIS. In alignment with the areas going live, the page provides links to training materials covering certain functions in College Admissions, College Financial Aid, the offices of the University Registrar, and the Law School Registrar.

A second new tab in the navigation provides answers to questions about the new system. Most of the inquiries were made during the summer Information Sessions conducted in July and August 2015. In addition to the searchable list online, a pdf is available for download.

Still to come in the near future is a glossary of terms used in AIS. It will be organized around subject areas so users can narrow their search. In addition, an online communications toolkit is in development. It will provide a calendar of important dates, templates for communications, and resources for printing.

While the project team prepares to launch a newsletter to share useful information, system users can receive notice of news regarding AIS by signing up for the project website’s RSS feed on the AIS website. The link looks like this on the home page navigation bar:        RSS symbol.jpg
