The Academic Information System becomes UChicago’s system of record
With the opening of Autumn Quarter 2016, AIS is UChicago's system of record for:
- Student biographic and demographic information
- Financial aid
- Student accounts
Gargoyle has been changed to view only except for transcripts. It will remain the system of record for transcripts until late-October, and access to run transcripts is unchanged.
Faculty Access now uses AIS data, though the user experience will remain largely unchanged at this time. Faculty gained access to their class lists and photo rosters for the Autumn Quarter on Sept. 7.
For staff, the Student Verification tool began using data from AIS on August 31. Additionally, timeschedules.uchicago.edu has become an archive for time schedules between 1995 and summer 2016. For autumn 2016 forward, please refer to the new public Class Search: http://registrar.uchicago.edu/classes/. College Advisers can find reference materials here.
All students (incoming, returning, and former) have access to their data in the new my.UChicago. The former registration site, classes.uchicago.edu, is now closed and will redirect students to the new my.UChicago for registration. The annual confirmation process has begun in the new my.UChicago.
To assist new AIS users with the transition from old systems into the new unified my.UChicago, basic instructions can be found on the AIS User Page.
Any problems accessing the old timeschedules.uchicago.edu or new evaluations sites can be sent to IT Services at email@example.com. Problems or concerns about the new my.UChicago (including public classes search, registration for students, consent requests) can be sent to the AIS Project at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We hope to hear from you. If you have comments or questions, please contact the AIS team.
